"India - Tribal Frontiers"

When the Dalai Lama was forced to flee Tibet in 1959, he made his gruelling journey into India through its wild North East Frontier.

Closed to both Indians and foreigners in 1947 by Pandit Nehru, this recently opened, but often neglected part of the Indian Subcontinent has a rich tapestry of Tribal culture and a unique example of Himalayan rainforests. By way of contrast is Rajasthan, the
desert heart of India and land of the Rajput Warrior Clans. The 'pink' city of Jaipur, frescos of Shekhawati and merchant Havelis of Jaisalmer exemplify
the "colours of India".
