Crossing Cultures:
The Travel Photographer's Journey
This presentation draws on the experience of a working photographer in the field, his inspiration, attention to detail, highs & lows. Paul sees photography as a passport to a whole raft of encounters with people and places - Shamans in Mongolia, story tellers in Calcutta and bungee jumpers in Queensland; Iban longboats in the rainforests of Borneo and the nervous relationship with his camel, Marmaduke, in Niger's Tenere Desert.
Paul is constantly challenged to document life, culture, religion in a different light, from a different viewpoint. Adhering to a client's brief or following personal projects, Paul attempts to unravel the complexities of our planet, the art of photography and his continuing belief in the 'road less travelled'.
